From the 10 to 12 February 2016 the international shoe and trade fair GDS (Global Destination For Shoes & Accessories)<\/em> <\/a><\/span>opened its biannual gates in D\u00fcsseldof. This time<\/span>\u00a0I \u00a0got the opportunity to visit\u00a0the GDS for the first time and could already cast an eye on\u00a0the shoe and accessories\u00a0trends of tomorrow and beyond as well as the new collections for the autumn and winter season of 2016\/2017. Next to the 800 brands, who\u00a0showcased their newest collections in the three themed GDS worlds called HIGHSTREET,STUDIO and POP UP, the\u00a0FashionBloggerCaf\u00e9 shoedition<\/a><\/span><\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0styleranking<\/a><\/span><\/em>\u00a0took place for the fourth time last friday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"GDS<\/span>A highlight of mine definitely were the beautiful fashion shows.\u00a0<\/span>I checked out the upcoming shoe & accessories pieces on the runway at the POP-UP-SHOW and\u00a0STUDIO Show “Maximal Minimal” and last but not least the Blogger Runway Show.\u00a0I’m still super overwhelmed by all the new\u00a0impressions and experiences I made during my time at the GDS and extremely grateful that I got the opportunity to visit my first fashion shows!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new shoe trends I spotted at the GDS offer an exciting variety of different fashion images including new lengths, widths and fabrics, which primarily put a new drift on classics. The color schemes for the autumn and winter season of 2016\/2017 reach from warm camel and cognac nuances to dark burgundy shades and\u00a0intense tints of blue. While yellow and orange colors create a strong and vibrant\u00a0contrast\u00a0alongside the classic tranquillity of black, which thankfully never becomes old. Oveknees will lift up the season whereas ankle boots develop\u00a0a\u00a0passion for\u00a0details like\u00a0fringes, fur, embroidery and patchwork. Snake prints no longer feature as discreet appliqu\u00e9s but wriggle all over the shoe\u00a0and seductively shimmering velvet keeps hold of the shoe scene in secretively shades. Of course\u00a0leather is still pretty much dominating\u00a0the game especially as soft nappa, suede or metallic finishes. In contrast to\u00a0the\u00a0Androgynous shoe styles, which are currently conquering womenswear, court shoes and pointed ballerinas provide a feminine and filigree touch thanks to ingenious ankle straps<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the third day of the\u00a0GDS Shoe & Accessories trade show<\/a><\/em><\/span> (the\u00a0\u201cBloggers’ Friday\u201d) fashion bloggers met for joint networking at\u00a0the FashionBloggerCafe\u00a0shoedition<\/a><\/span><\/em>. The event was organised for the fourth consecutive time in cooperation with styleranking<\/a><\/em><\/span> and around 110 fashionbloggers came together to exchange thoughts\u00a0on the latest\u00a0shoe and accessories trends or\u00a0to get creative at the\u00a0offered\u00a0do-it-yourself\u00a0activities. This time seven partners provided a varied program including various\u00a0raffles\u00a0at the styleranking<\/a><\/span><\/em> booth.\u00a0By Alegory one could\u00a0free one’s\u00a0creativity skills to design their own heels\u00a0and at the neighboring beauty corner I got my make-up redone with products by Inglot. It was actually the first time I got my make-up done by a professional make-up artist\u00a0and I have to say he\u00a0did an amazing job especially my lips looked a lot fuller afterwards! At the stand of the\u00a0Berlin company Caseable<\/a><\/em><\/span> one could design their own phone cases. I made it a little easier for myself by choosing a pre-designed case in a dark marble look (get the same case here<\/a><\/em><\/span>), which should arrive within the next days.\u00a0My personal highlight was the Blogger Runway Show, where the latest trends were staged eye-catchingly by five chosen bloggers. Who\u00a0created their looks for the Autumn and Winter season 2016\/17 using\u00a0key pieces\u00a0of their exhibiting partner labels\u2019 collections.\u00a0<\/span>A further surprise was the filled goodie bag sponsored by the GDS exhibitor Fritzi aus Preu\u00dfen.\u00a0The bag includes a lot of\u00a0great must-haves for every women handbag like\u00a0small beauty products, reading material and other little goodies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At this point I would also like to greet all the dear blogger girls I got to meet at the\u00a0FashionBloggerCafe<\/a><\/em><\/span>.\u00a0It was really nice to meet you all and I hope to see you again for the next FashionBloggerCafe shoedition<\/a><\/span><\/em>! Of course the lovely fashion crew from styleranking<\/a><\/em><\/span> also provided trendy snacks and drinks at the fashion blogger cafe! The girls from Just Spices\u00a0conjured\u00a0n<\/span>ew<\/span>\u00a0taste\u00a0<\/span>se<\/span>nsa<\/span>tion from ordinary popcorn with\u00a0flavors reaching\u00a0from sweet to spicy. While one could get freshly mixed smoothies<\/span>\u00a0made out of\u00a0fresh fruits and refreshing coconut water at the Vita Coco bar, naturally\u00a0I was<\/span>\u00a0instantly hooked!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
